In this game you comptete against "THE COMPUTER". The computer controls the timer on a bomb. You can stop the bomb by solving 3 puzzles. Good luck!
There are two ways the computer can win (and that you can lose!):
First: The computer wins if you have been unable to guess the answer before 50% of the letters have appeared.
Second: the computer wins if you fail to get the answer within three minutes.
To begin the game click the mouse on "BEGIN THE GAME". As soon as you do this the computer will randomly select an item from one of the following categories: BOOKS AND POEMS; OCCUPATIONS; SONGS; MOVIES; FAMOUS PEOPLE; QUOTATIONS; GAMES OR SPORTS.
Next, blank fields will appear to show how many words and letters are in the item. At this point, the clock will start timing.
Click the mouse on any letter you think may be included in the itme. Once you are ready to guess what the item is, click the mouse on the button with your name on it. Each time you click on a letter or on the button to guess, the time remaining in the game will be displayed at the top of the card. If you guess incorrectly, you will lose points.
Once you have played a total of ten games, your effort will be scored and you will be compared to other players.
To perform well on this task you must develop a broad-internal focus of concentration. The type of concentration used to analyze and plan. The stronger your general education background, the more you have been exposured to a wide variety of movies, books, and occupations, the better your long term memory and your ability to recall information under pressure, the better you will perform.
Higher level academic situations, management and research positions in business, and coaching in sport, places a heavy demand on your ability to develop a broad-internal focus of concentration in order to recall and store information. It's the ability to "free associate" to the seemingly disparate pieces of information you collect over time which is the hallmark of a great diagnostician, detective, or attorney. It is this ability which leads to innovation and creative problem solving.
